Affiliations
Kukkiwon is the headquarters of Taekwondo. Founded in 1972 it has promoted the sport to every corner of the globe and was the leading force to bringing it into the Olympics. In 1973 it established the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) and held the first ever World Taekwondo Championships.
The World Taekwondo Federation is the International Federation (IF) governing the sport of Taekwondo and is a member of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
USA Taekwondo (USAT) is the national governing body (NGB) of Taekwondo for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and thus the United States’s official Member National Association of the World Taekwondo Federation
